How the process works?
They use a vegetable-based dye on both the eyelashes and the eyebrows for added definition. Think of it as a glazing for these hairs, similar to varathane. During a brow tinting, an aesthetician will first apply Vaseline to the skin surrounding the eyebrow or eyelash. This process will protect the skin and prevent the dye from bleeding onto it. Then the tint is painted directly onto the eyebrow. The dye will then set for 10 minutes. Any residue that occurs is gently removed with a soft, wet cloth. Keep in mind however, the tint will not work like a tattoo. The dye will only color the existing hairs and not the root itself. Here is another important tip. If you use self-tanner, it’s best to skip it the week before you come in for your service, as the tanner can react badly with the dye.

Although a similar process, lash tinting takes around 20 minutes. “In addition to applying Vaseline around the eye, a protective pad is placed under the bottom lashes to cover the skin below,” explains the eyelash expert. “After the vegetable tint is applied onto the lashes on closed eyes, the dye will set for between five to eight minutes before theapplies a second coat of eyelash or eyebrow tint. After five to eight minutes, the lash pad is taken off and the eye area (including the eyelashes) are wiped clean with clean, wet cotton pads. This is to ensure no residue seeped inside the eye. If this were to occur, the eyes are rinsed with a saline solution.

How to make your eyelash and eyebrow treatment last?
The longevity of both the eyebrow and eyelash tinting treatment will last around three to six weeks, depending on your washing routine. However, you can build upon your eyelash tints, colors and shades to keep the look from fading over the course of time. Is there another way to keep the color from fading away? One helpful tip is to avoid oil-based wipes, cleansers or moisturizers. These products will dissolve your tints in quite a hurry and ultimately make your eyelashes return to their normal look. As for makeup wise, wearing mascara or brow pencil over your eyelash and eyebrow tint are absolutely fine.
